I don't really see much here that's new, there have been magnetic chucks, clutches, keyed padlocks etc probably for generations. What they don't talk about is how they magnetize a pair of single magnets to full strength with opposing fields so close to each other without demagnetizing adjacent fields. That's tricky however I don't see any immediate applications for pickups. Hopefully someone else will.Comment
