  • Y2 Class EMI Suppression Capacitor - "Death Cap"

When I re-capped my 1st Acoustic 370, I replaced both of the old .047uF caps on the primary side of the PT (C401 & C402). One goes across the power switch and the other has one end tied to ground & the other end is switchable between the neutral or the hot leads of the incoming power cord. At the time, I ordered 2 PME271Y547MR30 Y2 Class caps from Mouser. The one across the switch could be an X Class, but I decided to just use 2 identical caps for simplicity.

Now, I've got another 370 to repair & I can't source this cap anywhere. All the usual outlets show it as out of stock. Since most tube amp achematics I look at have identical or similar caps, I'm wondering what you guys typically use for these caps? Thanks.

Thanks for the source. I don't like just removing them & I don't trust the old ones in this application.
