Setup for recording bass pickups.

I have been reading about recording pickups and how to mic the amp for pickups recording in the forum(how to mic amps for sound samples, and How to record a pickup to a computer? threads), and on the web...
I have recorded some samples with a friend (4 string pickup and 5 string pickup) with:
Channel 1: Direct Box ToneHammer Aguilar.
Channel 2: MarkBass “Little Mark3”, speaker Aguilar GS-112, with microphone AKG Perception 200.
Audio/MIDI Interface: M-Audio Fast Track Pro.
Software: Live.
Sequence and mix: Garage band.

Now I bought an Alesis Multimix 12 FireWire interface on ebay, I have a small Ampeg BA115HP combo, an AKG122 microphone, a Boss GT-6B bass effects processor, and my PowerBook G4 12" with GarageBand.
I was thinking on recording this way (see attached image)
Does some has recorded this way? Comments? Pros and cons?

I just record them direct. With all that stuff in the signal path, you aren't hearing the pickups. Especially with an Ampeg amp.
