I have a great sounding old tube projector amp using a 12B4 triode as the output. Its way quieter than my Killer Ant that can make my ears ring thru my JBL.It has a 6x4 inch AlNiCo speaker. It sounds like a large amp thats far away. So a smaller speaker w a <1W mini amp might be the answer if you don't want to spend for a Flextone and still want a big tone.
