  • 5E8A bass pot is acting funny

Hi ... this is my first post so "Hello everybody!"

I have a problem with the TAD 5E8A kit I just finished. It was my first attempt at an amp build so my experience is limited:
The amp sounds really great but the bass pot acts strange. From 1 to 10 it changes the tone somewhat but from 10 to 12 teh tone suddenly gets dull and the overall volume drops dramatically. I checked the wiring over and over but can't find anything that is wrong. Is that just the way the bass pot on these amps is behaving or does it indicate some kind of problem?

    thanks in advance!

    Herbert

Sounds like it could be a problem with the pot itself.I've built this amp from scratch (not a kit) and that is not normal.

I think it was a false alarm ...

I checked the cap and the pot and both are ok. I read a lot of reviews of the Fender Tweed Twins and it seems like the controlls are really this interactive. I am used to Blackface tone stacks so I might have expected a different behaviour from the pots. I'm getting used to it and can dial in a lot of great tones. I guess everything is fine. Thanks anyway ...
