If so what to use? This is a 6L6x2 amp and my B+ is going to be around 512.

Keep in mind that the more voltage drop you get from the rectifier, or any resistance in the B+ rail, the more "sag" your going to get. Too much sag can be a bad thing. One of my amps uses a big resistor in the B+ rail to induce some sag. About as much as a 5u4. When I'm playing with heavy distortion it's too much sag. I'm going to add a switch that adds a zener and bypasses the big resistor for an extra tonal option."Take two placebos, works twice as well." Enzo
