  • Problem with Fender Bassman SP3100 Volume Level

My Fender Bassman sp3100 solid state head has worked great for the 12 or so years i've had it. About a month ago i have started having problems with the volume level. I can crank it up and barely get any sound from it. Has any one ever encountered this problem and if so how can it be fixed. Any ideas!!!!? I have changed all chords tried different cabinets even different bass guitars. Had local music store tech guru with 40 years experience look at it and we are stumped. Any help would be appreciated.

Try plugging another preamp or any line level signal into the FX return, see if you can push the amp volume from that.
    Clean all your jacks input/output.

    Lets go from there.
