So more on the hum thing, while the hum was annoying it did not stop me from playing the amp, Friday night a got a few hours to play. After about an hour the amp would occasionally make a new noise, a statci sound, if I used the time tested whack the cabinet with my fist I would also get static.. Grrr
So Saturday I took it apart, in the past I would get this static if I probed the mounting bolts of the power transformer. Out that came and I cleaned and tighted everything up with respect to that mounting. Indeed that effort was worth it as the static was no longer! Still had hum though... So I checked my grounds I decided to ground all the cases of the pots to the buss and now... Hum free!!!! I played for hours Satuday night.
Of course I went to play yesterday and now there is a short somewhere, without a cord plugged in it sound like the tip of the cord is grounded the moment I turn it on..
