Yeah, that's me! I forgot all about that video. I'm mudsharkable there because sowhat was already taken. Now you folks can see the build video, listen to a little ZZTop and view the photo gallery... have fun.

Hi again... I also have posted a couple videos on youtube detailing the building of the speaker cabinets... here they are for your viewing pleasure.
The video on the 4x10 has a song I wrote and recorded using this amplifier.

Sweet. I like Rod Elliot's stuff. I have my own ideas on solid-state design, though I'm not sure they're ready for the big time yet.

The finish on the quad box looks great, how is it done? Do you have a grill to stop the cones getting poked in transit?
"Enzo, I see that you replied parasitic oscillations. Is that a hypothesis? Or is that your amazing metal band I should check out?"

I though long and hard on the finish and what I came up with is to have the box sanded real smooth then with a roller apply 3 coats of truck bed liner, I use the Rustoleum stuff. You could in essence stop at this point because the liner stuff is black. I wanted gray so 2 coats of Rustoleum granite gray was sprayed on. I have use this finish now for a couple years and lots of gigs and although it will get a little ding here and there from time to time, touchup is easy and undetectable. This keeps them looking brand new. The black powder coated corners and handles get more beat up than the cabinet.

That cabinet is dimensionally identical to a Marshall 1965b except that the frame has rounded inside corners and the box has 1/2" radiused edges aside from the radiused speaker holes.

That 4x10 has a gasketed panel that friction fits into the opening to protect the speakers in transit and also acts as a passive mechanical attenuator (I like to call it a cabinet mute). It has a 9" rounded over hole in the middle so the Parsons logo shows through and the 4 corners are cut away at a 45 degree angle so as just to let out enough 10" madness. With the panel in place it looks crazy and people just can't figure out what the heck is going on there, but they think it looks cool.

            Sowhat,
Your amp work is "so cool."
Nice approach and great build sequence videos.
The SS head packaging must really confuse people since the style is so retro tube equipment looking.
            Cheers,
            Tom

I did my JTM45 clone back in 2004. The Super Lead clone I made from parts out of a Selmer TV100PA MKII in 2009.

My first build from 2010, the Weber AB200 kit. A bass amp with 6xKT88 or 6x6550.

The 2011 project, a Weber 6S100. This was not a kit, I used Dynaco transformers and built everything from scratch. 2xKT88's

This year I built a Hiwatt DR201 clone from scratch. 6xEL34 or 4xKT88

All amps have individual bias ajdustments pots for each tube and a built in volt meter for bias adjustment.

                            Nice work bb5000,
How did you do the lettering on the 2011 project Weber 6S100 panels?
Care to show any inside amp porn shots of you handiwork?
                            Cheers,

For the panels on the 6S100 I just used waterslide decals, black lettering on transparent decals (for laser printers) and 3-4 layers of clearcoat on top of that.

Some gutshots, here are some old ones from the AB200:
