  • Alternate to McMaster Carr for winder parts

I live in Canada, and as you probably know McMaster Carr has that bullsh*t about not shipping to Canada. I need some parts to build a pickup winder, such as an axle, collars, sheaves, etc. Are there any other sites that have the same sort of selection of that kind of stuff that you would recommend? Thanks!

SmallParts.com: The Hardware Store for Researchers and Developers has some handy small parts, used to do custom machining too

not sure about 3rd world sales though...

You know what I like about Canada? We don't hear about them on the news all the time. That has to be saying something good right there!

Lately I have been sending a lot of pickups up North.

                  about Canada (approx. population wise)
                  EU/2 = USA
                  USA/10 = Canada
                  Canada/10=Albania
                  Albania/10 = Iceland
and Iceland's banks destroyed the EU! go figure!

                    Hello,
Try using drill rod for shafts, it is cold drawn and the sizing is very correct. For collars and sheaves try a local bearing supply. They will have all of those things and you can measure them on site.

No, the Euro destroyed the EU! It was a dumb idea from the start for many reasons.

I heard Iceland was thinking of adopting the Canadian Dollar for it's new currency. Of course they'd have to stare at the queen.
