  • Output transformer impedance question

I have an old Melody amp with a single 6ar5 as the power tube. The output transformer went out, and I replaced it with one for a champ. Any idea how this would change the impedance? The original speaker is 4 ohms.

The ideal load for that tube will partly depend on the plate voltage. Avoiding any math, the tube data seems to indicate that your fine with that OT into a four ohm load.
