SHO into TU-2 issues

Hey,
Recently I put my Zvex SHO first in my chain, running into a VP Jr. which goes to my other pedals and splits to my TU-2 tuner. It sounds great, but oddly, my tuner doesn't read my guitar until I turn OFF the SHO. Why would this be?

Because the SHO is distorting the guitar signal beyond all recognition?

I don't think so, it's not turned up much past unity. I'm using it more as a buffer currently.
