Hello,
Would using higher carbon machine screws improve clarity in pickups, as opposed to over the counter stuff at the hardware store? I have some nickel plated 6/32 but I am not sure about using those either.

Most bobbin screws are 5-40x3/4".
Mojotone Humbucker/P90 Vintage Spec Polepieces Nickel / 6
Not sure what bobbins you have, but make sure they are not too large.
