  • 2000s Standby Switch??

    Hi Guys,

I recently just went through and totally re-did over my sunn 2000s, and now for some reason the standby switch is arcing. I by-passed it and everything is fine so I know it is an issue with the switch. Does anyone have any ideas on where I can get a replacement for it? I guess I can also just use the polarity switch, but I would like not to.

    Many thanks!!!

Go through the ALCOswitch catalog I think there is one that will fit...
    http://www.mouser.com/pdfdocs/Tyco-Rocker-Paddle.pdf
what you want is a "snap in" rocker paddle type, and I think if you measure it,
    with calipers,
you can probably hunt one down.
Just the "snap in" part need to be the same, you could use different terminals.
Does not have to be "push on" terminals.

The original switch was made by Carling. They still make the same switch, but there are many options as to mounting, actuator, color, etc. You would have to determine the exact part number, then ask Carling for a list of distributors who have that part in stock. The Sunn switches are installed with pop rivets. You'll have to remove the front panel, drill the rivets, then install the new switch with countersunk screws or more rivets.

There is some info on the Sunn site: http://sunnforum.ampage.org/index.php
You will probably have to register to see some of it.
