    **Edit Note
    Thread closed.
Reason, it has turned out to just be a thread for the pros to advertise in.
Not enough beginner, and hobbyist participation, as originally intended.

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein

Your look fine! I almost didn't post the Gibson EB-0 pickup because it's kind of scrappy looking because of the copper tape.

David, what's inside the T-Bird pickup, did you take any pic's before the epoxy?
(and where did you get the cover?)

            A set of my sidewinders.

did you take any pic's before the epoxy?
Of course, but I don't post photos of my pickup guts. I have to keep some secrets!

But here it is before the epoxy.

            (doesn't show much, huh?)

(and where did you get the cover?)
            That's another secret.

              David:
Is there much difference in noise without the copper foil?
Is the foil just on the bottom?
On my strat blades I just put a small foil strip on the bottom, but they are hum buckers, not sidewinders.

                Darn.

No problem David I totally understand, just thougth I'd ask. BTW those look really good, nice work.

I have a good (repeat) customer that has been after me to make him a couple TBird pickups for some time. A while back a guy (maybe here) had some covers made but when I contacted him about getting a couple he wanted more for 1 pair of his covers than I get for the pickup so I had to pass.
(probably trying to make back his investment in tooling, on me)

Pictures of the P/J Bass set.
Just got them out of the wax pot.
Need to clean the covers, and the Pictures are not that great.
                  But, You get the Idea.
You guys need to get to posting some pics of what your building.

Yes, they are sensitive to electrostatic noise (buzzing). But I shield all my pickups for this.

Is the foil just on the bottom?
Normally it covers the whole pickup. In this case the pickup is in a metal cover, so it was just on the bottom.

Sidewinders are also humbuckers. On the Strat rail pickups and my guitar humbuckers I just ground the blades unless they have metal baseplates, and then I ground that too.

                      Finally got this beast finished.
Very impressed with the Steinberger Bridge setup.
This bass belongs to a small lady singer.
I can see why she likes it, it's short and light.
I took out a set of EMG actives.

**BTW I ended up all the poles level with the covers.
Don't want to hurt any fingers.

Now you have to clean the poor thing!

I did wipe it down after the photo.
They have a 5 piece band, and play weekly in a Smoke filled 20x20 Bar Room.
The smoke alone would kill me.
That smoke residue gets on everything.
The bass had quite a bit of playing wear on it.
Surprised they wanted to spend the money on it, but She has had it since the 80s and likes playing it.
I talked to them today, they practiced last night, and she loved the way it sounded with the Passives in it.
