Pickup Specs.
**Note for the Vintage Fender Pickup Specs PDF
The PDF shows Heavy Formvar was used on Telecaster Pickups, but in fact it has been varified by many sources that they always used Plain Enamel Wire.

This is how I degauss magnets enough to make them easier to handle and work with.
I have two C8 ceramic blocks, stuck to my work desk.
They are stuck to the desk End to End, One North up, and the other South Polarity up.
I pass the Alnico magnet, or pickup over the two ceramic blocks, Starting at one end, and out the other end.
I turn the Alnico over and do it again.
This reduces the magnetism to a low level.
When I am done working with the Pickup Magnets, like mounting them in the flatwork, I recharge with NEOs.
My pictures use a already made pickup for an example.
My Ceramic block magnets are just cheap magnets from Harbor Freight discount tool store.
Good Luck,
T

Things that Effect Tone in a Passive Magnetic Electric Guitar Pickup.
I will list things here in this post that effect Tone, as they are brought up in other Post's.
1. Wire size, for Pickups usually in the 42-44awg size in single and heavy insulations.
2. Type of steel used in Keeper, screws, and slugs.
3. Type of Baseplate used, Nickel Silver is most used, and is bright. brass is darker, and forbon non metallic is probably the brightest.
4. TPL(Turns Per Layer), and Tension, and amount of turns.
5. Bobbin wire area Diameter. The larger the diameter across the wound coil, the darker the tone.
6. Equal or non Equal coils.
7. With unequal coils, experiment with which coil is applied the output first, vs. which one is grounded.
8. Magnet type used, Different Alnico grades, Ceramic, and NEOs that are mainly used in Bass Pickups.
9. Bobbin height effects tone greatly, This is adjustable in Single Coils, but is not adjustable in Fixed Plastic Single Coil, & Humbucker bobbins.
10. In the Guitar, the Potentiometers, and Tone Capacitor Value, Also effect tone.
