  • Duo-sonic pickups configuration

A customer wants me to make new pickups for his late 50's "pickupless" Fender Duo-sonic. I have all the infos concerning the size of the magnets etc... since he gave me his 1956 Musicmaster so I can mesure the pickup, but I can't find if the 2 pickups of the Duo-Sonic were made RW/RP from the begining of this model.

Does one of you guys could help me?

    Thanks a lot, once again...

Here's a '72 Mustang pickup. They are pretty much the same pickups.

This one had a break, so I removed the magnet wire. As you can see, the pickup was not wax potted, but instead had some kind of lacquer/dope on the coil itself.

I have the other one with the wire around here somewhere (also the rest of the guitar).

It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
