  • baffle board mounting?

    Hi,

What are the pros and cons on mounting a baffle board with only four screws (on in each corner) like on a tweed amp versus using more screws all the way around?

    thanks!

The air spaces will cause cabinet rattles and buzzes.
Should be a hefty wood screw about every 4-6 inches...
you can also put some gasket in there to stop it from buzzing, like Mooretite caulk rope.
(this caulk does not dry and is removable, like play dough.)
also, a thin layer of mooretite between the speaker frame and the baffle is pretty good.
We use Mooretite on big subs, in mega PA systems, to stop the buzzes and rattles...

ok, thanks ... will do so. I don't think that we have "Mooretite" in Europe but there is that stuff that is used for sealing sink drains and such. It's like play dough as well, just a little more firm and it doesn't . That should work I guess.
