bypassing a gain stage

im too lazy to try this out so ill ask you guys. if you put a 10k gridstopper on a tube and ran wire from the side of that grid resistor that is not soldered to the grid to the side of the coupling capacitor that is not soldered to the plate, would this parallel arrangement effectively bypass this tube? in trying to use it as a ghetto channel switching thing.
