  • Source for Transformer

I need a Marshall power trans for a 9000 series power amp. This is a dual mono 50w amp (el34) .

Anyone know a source for this? or does anyone like Hammond make a dual mono trans like this ?

did you already check a Marshall dealer to order a replacement?
not that there is any for sure...but check.
or call these guys. I feel that they may come up with something:
    Info@MercuryMagnetics.comwww.MercuryMagnetics.com(818) 998-7791
and MM may make a stacked replacement for you

soundguruman: and MM may make a stacked replacement for you
And you'll probably pay 2 or 3 times what that amp is worth for them to do it.

Stacked? I'd be really surprised if it has dual secondary windings.

Valvehead, have you tried marshallparts.com? (Parts is Parts)

From what I recall the power supply was common to both sides of that amp, so nothing "dual" about the PT.

So it does have separate HV windings for the two sides of the amp. Sorry for the error, memory does not always serve.

$365..........that right there is comedy . WOW.

for the record , I will never by a Mercury over priced snake oil fancy transformer.

Ive had a few people hire me to put in MM trannys in their amps.....I heard no difference , and none of them did either. Snake oil = tube amp style.

After exchange and shipping I don't suppose the one from TAD is much cheaper: Mains transf. for Marshall MGP 9005 Rack Power Amp 50+50W - Mains Transf. for Marshall
