Electronic Goldmine's latest email specials has a listing for a germanium PNP transistor that **might** work for an output transistor in some of the Thomas Vox amps that use germanium outputs.
Caveats: I do not *know* that they'll work. But they are the right size and shape (to-3), material (Ge) and voltage/current/power ratings to work. Don't know about frequency response characteristics, which is always an issue with germanium.
Germanium PNP power devices at Electronic Goldmine
They're only $1.79 each, which removes one of the huge problems with PNP germanium power devices, the cost.
Note that I do not recommend replacing the PNP germanium outputs in Thomas Vox amps with even exact-same devices. PNP silicon is tremendously more reliable, and only requires a couple of resistor changes to work well. But some people want germanium. IF you're one of those, this is a good chance to get a few.
