  • Di Marzio Tone Zone S output

    Hello,

Installed Di Marzio Tone Zone S (dual rail HB in single coil shape) at bridge position in Japanese Strat: the Di Marzio website specs 300 mV output and 12.4 K resistance for the Tone Zone S, so I was expecting more volume in comparison to the japanese SCs (traditional, about 6K, coils) mounted in the neck and middle positions.

But in this case, the bridge PU hasn't more volume: I need to raise the PU very close to the string to obtain the same volume as the neck PU (but with less "air" and definition, and lacking dynamic response in some way).

I mesured the DC resistance and is OK; the splitted coil cancels hum in the right way in combination with the middle SC, and the hum rejection is even better in serial HB mode. So, I doubt this can be a wiring problem or a fault coil...I don't know if a ceramic PU like this can suffer from demagnetization. I used a 250k pot and this can maybe reduce the peak response but not kill the output in this way...
    What you think?

    Many thanks
