  • Help with Peavey Artist VT series

First time post for me here. I am a converted drummer so be nice! Know what you call a guy that hangs with musicians? A drummer! Anyway, I have acquired this awesome Peavey Artist VT Series model 115 BW Artist that sounded awesome when I first got it home, with the exception of a few scratchy pots. Unable to spray them from the front, I disassembled and cleaned the case and sprayed the pots from the inside. Cleaned everything with the exception of anything inside. It looked very clean for being thirty something years old in there. Problem is my auto mix and bright outputs suck now. Hardly no volume. Some but not much. Also I might mention that my reverb feeds back violently when turned up. Turned down, no problem. Also I might mention that the main output on back is supposed to be connected to a 8 ohm speaker. The speaker however is a 4 ohm. Uncomfortably enough, it was plugged into the 8 ohm jack when I got it (oh shit). Anyone to help me start troubleshooting this? Obviously I am not an expert, but I can read schematics, solder and have a general idea of whats going on in there. Thanks and any advice is appreciated.

You either posted this somewhere else here, or maybe over at Peavey. Wherever it was I already responded there and me and my can of beer don't feel like repeating at the moment, so go look at the other place. I left a few suggestions.

Can't help myself here... got to include something to make this thread all that more fun! I am sure the OP would not mind.

How do you tell if the stage is level?
The drummer is drooling from both sides of his mouth.

How can you tell a drummer's at the door?
        The knocking speeds up.

What's the last thing a drummer says in a band?
"Hey, how about we try one of my songs?"

What do you call a drummer that breaks up with his girlfriend?
        Homeless.

What do Ginger Baker and black coffee have in common?
        They both suck without Cream.

How many drummers does it take to change a lightbulb?
Five: One to screw the bulb in, and four to talk about how much better
        Neil Peart could've done it.

How do you get a drummer off of your porch?
Pay him 10 bucks for the pizza.

What do you call a drummer with half a brain?
        Gifted.

What do you say to a drummer in a three-piece suit?
        "Will the defendant please rise?"

"Hey buddy, how late does the band play?"
"Oh, about half a beat behind the drummer."

Hey, did you hear about the drummer who finished high school?
        Me neither.

Why do guitarists put drumsticks on the dash of their car?
So they can park in the handicapped spot.

How is a drum solo like a sneeze?
You know it's coming, but there's nothing you can do about it.

What's the first thing a drummer says when he moves to LA?
"Would you like fries with that, sir?

What is the difference between a drummer and a savings bond?
One will mature and make money.

What do you do if you accidentally run over a drummer?
        Back up.

What did the drummer say to the band leader?
"Do you want me to play too fast or too slow?"

Just had too... I am really sorry or maybe Enzo gave me a few of his BEERS!!
I hope I do not offend and this makes a few drummers laugh! I mean he even had a joke in the original post so I just could not help myself. Sorry.

That's cool. I have been a drummer for 35 years, so I have heard most of them!

Gotta have a little fun with the serious stuff or the serious stuff is....well to serious!

            Drumdood Thanks

Your the bomb!! Just glad you understood where I was coming from on that post and I meant only for a good time.

Link to the other thread on the other site for us to go and read there too. That would be cool too. I really just wanted to read more about where you had posted about this amp. Good luck!

P.S. As a drummer I bet those jokes are even funnier! My drummer would have never tried to help me fix an amp!! So you must be the best drummer ever!!
