  • How to use Neutrik NP2RC right angle C-series 1/4" plugs? SOLVED!

I had to pad a small order from MF to reach the $25 minimum for free shipping so I decided to order a few Neutrik NP2RC right angle C-series 1/4" plugs. I checked their website and could not find information on how to take these apart to use them. Can anybody out there help? Do I need additional parts to make them work?

I did find these links for the straight C-series plugs at the Neutrik site:

    Thanks!

P.S. I think that you might just grab on to the rubber boot and yank it out but I thought I better check first. NO!

The black strain relief is threaded so it unscrews out of the plug which allows the two cast parts to slide apart. I found this file at the tube-town.net site.
(So why the hell do they not have this information readily available at the Neutrik site? Although the NP2RC right angle plug is listed in their 2013 catalog a search for the corresponding web page comes up blank.)

Thank you Tube Town! BTW the instruction sheet shows exactly how long to make the cable leads for soldering and how to deal with larger diameter cables. Top notch!

I have several cables with broken or flaky Switchcraft right angle plugs and even after replacing them they break again. Most common is the wire flexing enough to break off the center lead. Or the barrel will unscrew. I tried gluing the barrel on (I couldn't find my Thread Lok!) and that worked for awhile but now I can't remove it to redo the connections.
