And C2 is measuring what?
I would resolder the pads of C1 to see if it is simply a bad solder joint.
If that does not help, then you need to replace the cap (replace both, watch the polarity markings!)
I am surprised that the Vdc measurement on C1 did not come in lower from all of that ac on it.

Sorry about C2.
C1 is part of the bootstrap circuit.
That 1.1 K 5 watt resistor is the one you need to add.
I don't think that is the problem. (C1)
What I would check is on Page 579.
The +98 & -98 Vdc (minimal Vac ripple)
The +15 & -15 Vdc (no ripple)
Is the rear panel switch set for 'Stereo'? (it should be)

Okay. I did a little more work on the amp. I was able to borrow an o-scope and took a look at the ripple on C4 and C5. I observed more ripple on both than I thought I should have. On C4 I read 1.82 volts p-p. On C5 I read 1.50 volts p-p. The voltage readings in this area are: U1 in +29.73 volts. U1 out +14.92. U2 in -30.01.
U2 out -15.15. I also substituted out C4 because the original ripple on it was above 2 volts. I double checked my scope probe. Its a x10.. It seems like something in this circuit is screwy. I just cant put my finger on it. Yet... And replies are welcome and appreciated. -Tab

The voltage going into the + & - 15 volt regulators (U1 & U2) must be 'relatively' ripple free.
The proof is in the regulated voltages.
Measure the + & - 15's for ripple.
Have you measured the high voltage rails for ripple?
