  • Easiest way to assemble/test proto dr504 amp?

I've been thinking of doing my first clone on a breadboard, stage by stage...preamp first. Going to do a dr504 clone.
but obviously running 300 plus volts dc in a breadboard seems incredibly dangerous.
Anyway I can do this with the preamp tubes (or something that will test similar?) and without killing myself?
I asked my teacher today about his hifi build, but I've already forgotten.

    Thanks for any help.

You can use a real breadboard, meaning a piece of plywood with (preferrably brass) nails embedded and somewhat thick (#18) solid wire working as ground and +HV rails.

You get to solder everything and in general try not to cut parts leads, at least not too short, for removal/reuse .

FORGET standard plug in solderless Protoboards, deadly at Tube voltages.
