  • Pickup ID question - Gibson?

I used to have a similar humbucker to this one that somehow got misplaced. Now, a new buddy of mine give me this one without preamble.
I just unsoldered the chrome cover to see if it had an shiny AlNiCo magnet, which it does. But I've never seen a Gibson pickup without the metal braided lead and this one is plastic. It measure 7.27 kΩ and with a bit of researching the PAT No # 2 737 842, it seems made in '84. I discovered VH about that year

I've a Koa superstrat-type guitar that has never gelled with any neck humbuckers —they're always too bassy. So I may swap out the installed vintage-wind, A2 Burstbucker (which feedbacks wickedly, maybe it could use a bit of crazy glue into the windings, they're cheap to buy used anyways) for this pickup.

On the A2 burstbucker, It just needs to be wax potted.
An easy job if your set up for it. I don't recommend the super glue.
7.2-7.4k with a A2 magnet is my favorite neck humbucker.
The new pickup appears to be a T-Top, which followed the PAFs.
