  • Qaud coil with dual magnets for bass

Here's what I'm thinking. Kinda like a Jazz bass pickup but with quad coils and the pair of magnets rotated 45 degrees so that they will line up with the strings. They will have a wider aperture to since more of the string. I'm hoping to have a sound like a dual coil but more focused. Any thoughts or comments?

I see no reason why it wouldn't work. I'm planning to do something similar. 10 000 rounds per coil could be a good starting point.

I was thinking around 10,000 per coil also with A5's.

Bruce Johnson makes pickups like this that he winds with 41AWG. He had some pictorial descriptions on his website. http://www.xstrange.com/aeb2pickups1.html but the link takes me to a blank page now.

Wow, those are pretty elaborate. Very informative. I'll stick to keep it simple. Thanks for the link.
