  • Removing power valves to reduce output

Hi ya. I have a Bugera 333xl infinium 120w head. I have been told that I can remove either the inner 2 tubes or the outer 2 tubes to halve the output. Does this alter the output impedance.? I'm going into an Engl E212VB PRO 2x12 Vertical Slanted Cabinet 8 Ohm. What should the impedance switch on the amp be set to.? 4,8 or 16 Ohm.?
    Thanks in advance.

Set the switch to 4 Ohms for the 8 Ohm cabinet.

The way I remember it is with a Twin Reverb you can remove one pair of output tubes and disconnect one of the speakers to maintain the proper OT impedances. (I heard that is the best way to cut down the sound level of a TR.)

If/because the twin has the stock parallel speakers arrangement.
