anyone use these? No crimp and solder that melts at 150C ? It must be some exotic metals in there!

    composition _______liquid (C)_______solid (C)
    80In15Pb5Ag____________149____________142
    99.3In0.7Ga_____________150____________150
    95In5Bi_________________150____________125
    42Pb37Sn21Bi___________152____________120
    99.4In0.6Ga____________ 152____________152
    99.6In0.4Ga____________ 153____________153
    99.5In0.5Ga____________ 154____________154
    100In _________________ 156.7__________156.7

My bets on the 42Pb37Sn21Bi ! (Indium is $680/kg!) Just torch it with a heat gun...

I have used these solder sleevs. They make for very neat terminations of co-ax cables. The same general idea.

Experience is something you get, just after you really needed it.
