HS Mag Warning!

It was just called to my attention that HS Mag has copied photos and my USA magnet descriptions from the ThroBak website to the HS Mag website to describe their product. Frankly it is bizarre since my descriptions describe ThroBak USA Made magnets as Illinois made or Indiana made because all my magnet are made by Arnold, T&S and Permanent Magnet (now out of business but I still have some stock). But anyway if this is how HS Mag is describing their product then I would not feel confident about how honest they would be as a vendor so I though I would give people here a heads up.

Here is the copy they lifted from my website.

Choose Alnico guitar pickup magnets for the best in true vintage Alnico magnet tone. MADE in CHINA:
A2 long / Scooped mids, chimey highs, warm sweet tones, loose feel.
A2 short / Scooped mids, spankier tone than long A2.
A3 long / Very weak, nice clarity for use in P90 pickups but very low output for PAF pickups.
A4 long / Balanced mids, treble and low end, drier toned than A2.
A5 long oriented / mid dominant, focused tone, jazzy cleans.
A5 short oriented / mid dominant tone, fatter toned than long oriented A5.
A5 long unoriented (Illinois) / Great low end clarity with good mids.
A5 long unoriented (Indiana) / Less low end clarity more treble snarl, good mids

I would suggest putting a branding water mark, across any pictures you don't want used or duplicated.
It is a Ethernet dog eat dog world, and it is worldwide.
What is the incentive for them to take their own pictures, when they can steal or borrow yours.
They being in China, makes it too hard to go after them.

I'm well aqainted with watermarking. I spent 20 years as a commercial photographer, I do my own website and all the photos on it. Watermarking is really only used for images offered for sale. You usually don't see it on product photos because it obscures the product and looks like ass. A copyright notice on the footer is all that is required for internet users and businesses that have a mere entry level of honesty. But clearly HS Mag does not have that. So to me it seems wise to avoid such a business. But then again HS Mag may just be your ideal vendor Stratums.
