    5e3 Tweed Build tranny questions

I am getting ready to build a narrow panel 5e3 & I noticed the some builders use go with the bigger iron 20 watts compared to the what ? 13 to 15 watts
I going with Hammond trannys probably the 1760h ot & the hm 290bx pt .are they a direct replacement ? & feel free to comment on this decision & how it will effect tone
louder with more headroom probably & i plan to ad some sort of PPIMV to this build ...thanks in advance

I guess the trannys are larger in physical size & the chassis will have to be modified ....I don't think i will go that route go with hammond 290ax PT & the 1760e OT
I noticed Hammond has an upgrade 291ax ,heavy duty or what ,Have Anyone tried the 291ax ?
I've noticed there is a 5E3 sub forum , Moderators you came move the thread there if you like .

As an update I looked at the Trannys that fit Mojotone's Chassis & the 20 watt 290bx & the 1760h fits the chassis .
I am favoring the 20 watt as this will have a MV or a PPIMV
I guess it opens up options for different power tubes

    She's up & running
Fired up ,everything is working ,not smoke ..
This thing sounds pretty good (nice cleans) take some time to get use to the interactive controls ,not much hum or hiss .
I am curious why my voltages are so low on V1
    v4(6v6)
    3, 358v
    4, 317v
    8, 20v

    V3 6v6
    3, 357v
    4, 316
    8, 20v

    V2 12ax7
    1, 159v
    3, 1.03v
    6, 188v
    8,46v

    V1 12AY7
    1, 123v
    3 or 8 ,1.7v
    4, 123v

    Heaters 6.55ac
    3 16uf
    closest to PT 360v, 314V,234V
This amp is not a kit but i did use the Mojotone layout & went with there small parts kit
    Hammond 290ax PT & 1760e OT
Checked everything & all values are correct & where they should be .

A 12AY7 typically biases up with lower plate Voltage than a 12AX7 in the same circuit. Nothing to worry about. If you want a little more headroom, change the 820 Ohm cathode resistor to 910 (if you can find one) or 1K. Might be more noticeable with an overdrive pedal.

WARNING! Musical Instrument amplifiers contain lethal voltages and can retain them even when unplugged. Refer service to qualified personnel.

I've changed V1 to 12AX7 & it has increased the gain ,I think i like it better
