  • Selecting wire gague for fender deluxe 6G3 clone build

    Hi All,
After much pain and back and forth, I decided to attempt a Deluxe 6G3 clone build. I haven't built a tube amp before, I do have some experience with high voltage etc.
I was able to get references for all of the parts, discrete components, tubes, transformers, etc, except for the type and gauge of hookup wire.
Does anyone have a reference on what type (solid vs stranded), insulation (cloth, teflon), and gauge (seems to be a lot of 20 or 22, but not sure about the main power section.

Even the kit web sites mostly say "wire included" but don't say what the wire is for each part of the amp or why.

I have seen a comment on a blog that the heater wiring should be solid, but could not confirm that.

    Thanks!!
    Mike
The only good solid state amp is a dead solid state amp. Unless it sounds really good, then its OK.
Working...
