  • Ibanez Basss Wiring diagram

I have an Ibanez SR500 Bass Guitar.
The one with active bass/mid/treble controls and a cut off switch that cuts out the tone controls.
Does anyone have the pick-up + pre-amp schematic or wiring diagram for this Bass.
There was a link on this forum for Ibanez wiring diagrams but it wouldn't work.
Likewise, the Ibanez "Support" links are also dead.

The bass occasionally just cuts out only to reconnect by thumping the guitar cord at the jack.
My confusion with the jack is that it is a stereo jack with three conductors. It has only been used by my bass player in single ended mode. Are there three conductors to:

    1. generate a balanced output,
    2. to run two output signals in stereo,
    3. to generate some kind of ground for the battery and active electronics?

The jack in connected with 1 white and two black wires. Only one of the black wires is common with the pot cases.

Hello Shadrock - Hope this helps
The answer is number 3 !!
    3. to generate some kind of ground for the battery and active electronics?

To connect the negative terminal battery to ground (like a switch) and activate the electronics.

From our comrades over the water .. well perhaps they are not speaking to you and only we can see them in Australia !
