  • 5E3 fast blow fuse?

Repaired a broken ground on a 50's 5E3 today. While I was probing to find the bad connection the fuse blew. I reached for a fresh 2A slo-blo and the customer, who is usually quite knowledgeable, told me that the early 5E3's take fast blo fuses, and that it was changed to slo-blo later on. He specifically carries fast-blo spares for this reason. Anyone ever heard this? The only schematic I have ever seen states slo-blo.
It's weird, because it WAS working fine.....

My factory 5E3 drawings say 2A, they do not mention slow blow. Looking at all my old Deluxe drawings, the letter in the middle ones all say 2A fuse. Once we get to the AA763 and AB763, we now see slow blow mentioned, but only 1 amp.

MAybe you have different drawings than I do.

personally I wouldn't hesitate to use slow blows in there.

The schematic I grabbed was from Robinette's site, so I think he probably added that in hindsight.
