Has somebody tried? Wiring a 51 P PU partly with AWG 43 and partly AWG 42?

Tried a dual core. Way harder to make then the results warranted.

I made one like that too -- actually thought I had the noiseless Strat pu problem without stacking solved til I tested it in a guitar and bent the G string. Turns out other folks had figured this all out long before me...
