  • Speakon to 1/4 inch plug?

Not sure what category to put this in?
I received a 30 ft 12 gauge cable with a 1/4 inch plug on one end.
    For mixer board to speaker.
Not sure which of the 4 terminals to use on the Speakon, for the mixer end?
I don't have anything to plug the cable into, to verify the wiring.
Any guidance, or schematic would be appreciated

    Thanks,
    T

It may vary with the specific mixer. What is the make and model?

      I don't know?
It is supposed to be a universal wiring?
It is my Son and Grandson's stuff he uses when he plays out.

The general default wiring would be 1+ to tip and 1- to sleeve.

Yup. Here's a pic. There are 2-pole, 4-pole, and 8-pole versions of the Speakon connector.
The 2-pole & 4-pole versions both have 4 pins; on the 2-pole version, pins 2+ and 2- are unused.

            Thanks a bunch!
I didn't realize it had numbers, until I tore it a part and used my magnifying glass.
Now I have 1+ to Tip and 1- to Sleeve.
I will take it to them tomorrow, after we eat supper out.
            We will test it then.
            Thanks again,
            T

I returned the cord to my Son, that runs the PA, & mixer for my Grandson's band.
The cord is now fixed, and the above info is correct!
                Thanks again!
