I like the looks of the second one listed by tedmich, in silver.
If you're into linux like me?
Buy it with the minimum m.2 sata 128gb drive.
Take the 128gb out and park it, and replace with a 1tb m.2 NVME high speed drive.
You could still get out for around $650-700.
Would be a fun rig, with gen 10 i7, lots of speed and features!
**Since I limit my laptop purchasing to once a year, so If something is available like this next black friday, I may have to take a bite!

With Windows 7 expiring this month, many people are considering looking at linux instead of Windows 10.
Here's a list of some machines you can get with it pre-installed (sorry about the slide-show thing)

My laptops are getting old and beat up.
            Always looking for a deal.
This time of year is best for that.
Walmart is running online black friday deals early.
They ran this laptop today, and I bought one.
The email said it would be here on friday.
            Has an i5 processor.
Looks like something I can put linux on.

Wish I hadn't seen that! Just had a look on the HP site and that model is not available here. Anything similar is way more expensive.

                It came in today.
Had to windows login to get it turned on.
Had to get in bios and disable secure boot to boot on linux USB drive.
It half booted but no graphics.
I turned it off, will beat on it more later.
It has been 4 years since I bought any laptops.
Windoz is continuing to make it harder to do any alternative OS, on new Computers.

The resolution to loading linux on new HP i5?
I tried a variety of linux distros.
What the problem turned out to be was my PNY USB 3.0 32gb flash drives.
I have 2 of them, and they both fail the same on the new HP.
I have used the PNY drives to load a multitude of different linux on different laptop computers.
I finally tried a Sandisk 32gb 3.0 usb, and it loaded fine.
The new HP recognized the PNY drive fine, but it would always error out when loading.
I also tried an old Attache 2.0 USB drive, and it loaded fine.
I ordered 3 more of the San disk 32gb 3.0 drives during the black Friday cyber sales.
I was hung up on something in the bios, or the Linux ISO, I was trying to load.
It turned out to be the usb drives, themselves.
Wanted to pass this on to others.
