Another browser I'm hearing kicked around a lot lately is the Tor, or Onion browser.
It is used to hide your browsers IP address.
Here's a basic youtube on it.
If you have anything to share on the tor browser, please do.

I've used U-block origin off and on on firefox, for years.
Last night got notification it was not supported.
      See Screenshot.
      I'm looking for an alternative?
      Anyone got any ideas?

It's not just ublock but many firefox add-ons and it is a temporary glitch. Should be fixed today or tomorrow?
Somebody forgot to renew a security certificate and the automatic updates of add-ons disables them.

this works (as a temporary measure 'til they fix the issue) but needs to be done each time you shut down and start up firefox again (not that big of a deal unless, say you have a huge number of add-ons) :

I use a Firefox variant called Waterfox. It doesn't block out-of-date add-ons like Firefox does. Works very well for me.

I guess it will require the add-ons fixing the issue.

                FF says:
                Add-on signing in Firefox?
Starting in Firefox version 57, only extensions built using WebExtensions APIs will work. Not sure if your add-ons are affected?
Add-ons that can change your browser's settings without your consent or steal your information have become increasingly common. Some add-ons can add unwanted toolbars or buttons, change your search settings or inject ads into your computer. Firefox does now verify that the add-ons you install have been signed by Mozilla, digitally.

Though FF started this in ver. 57, they must have just got around to enforcing it.
Sounds like Firefox, is turning into another Google!

They just pushed through a firefox update. All our add-ons are back up and running.
                  (edit: version 66.0.4)

Exactly why I went looking for an alternative. Waterfox is it. (for now)

uBlock Origin, and Reload in address bar, still won't install.
                      They are not fixed here.

I haven't looked into waterfox, and I guess they have a Linux version.
I use FF, because it is preloaded with most linux.

This is the temporary fix, at least for Linux.
                        It worked for me.

In order to be able to provide this fix on short notice, we are using the Studies system. You can check if you have studies enabled by going to Firefox Preferences -> Privacy & Security -> Allow Firefox to install and run studies.

You can disable studies again after your add-ons have been re-enabled.

You updated to the latest firefox (66.0.4) that came out a couple hours ago and it still didn't work?

                            No, I didn't add 66.0.4, I'm still on 66.0.3.
It will come out on a scheduled Ubuntu update.
                            Probably tomorrow, but not today.
The new one you have is not yet on the Ubuntu repository.
Not worth manually downloading, and installing the tarball, when it will soon be on an automatic update!
I did the other work around I listed in post 12, for now.

                              Ok that makes sense.
The official fix is 66.0.4 (it was only a 6Mb update):
