  • Question about Super Tube Screamer

Greetings all. I have noticed that some versions of the Super tube Screamer have the Mid control after the clipping diode stage and some other versions have it before the clipping diode stage. Which one is more authentic and also if anyone has an opinion to which one is better. I am asking this because i am going to build one. Thanks.

    Have you read this? https://aionelectronics.com/project/...tube-screamer/

Thanks! That is very helpful. I am assuming that the advantage of putting the mid tone control first before the diode section would be that there is more gain in the input which can be a good option. Is that true?

        Hey John,

No help on your thread, but are you the John Fisher that used to live in Mexico?

Welcome back, I guess. Haven't seen you around. Always resoected your creativity & engineering in a place where so many basic essentials weren't available... Hopefully things have improved since then?

That Fisher Tirone? I loved your projects some 15 years ago when there was very little info on the internet. Thank you. Greetings from Czech Republic.

                Weird.
Real Tube Screamer never had a Mid control anywhere, the suggested board doesn´t either, care to share a schematic?
                Thanks.
