  • Help troubleshooting Hafler P1500

I tried bridging my Hafler P1500 into an 8 ohm load for use as a bass guitar power amp. I followed the procedure in the manual (switch to mono, both connections to red posts). I got a loud hum and immediately shut it down. I switched it back to 2 channel operation and now channel 2 works normally, but channel 1's signal indicator light stays lit with nothing connected to it, the heat sink on that side starts getting warm, and when connected to a speaker (I used an old Peavey Scorpion with voice coil rub) It pulls the cone down and produces a buzzing sound. I suppose that means there's DC at the output. Where should I go from here? I didn't see anything obviously burned out and I do have a multimeter.
