  • Tweeter, white noise only.

What does it mean if a tweeter passes noise but no signal? The noise increases/decreases with the tweeter control.

Note, I put my ear right up to the tweeter, used a cardboard paper towel roll to ‘isolate’ it, could not hear and guitar noise from it.

Markbass 2x10 with a piezo and simple crossover, just a cement 10w and yellow non-polarized.

If you can hear hiss (amp noise), it's likely working. My bet is that your source just doesn't contain much HF information. The cap could be going bad and it's crossing over higher than it should be. If you think there's a problem, check the cap and tweeter. You could hook up the tweeter alone to another amp to test it. It's a piezo, so you wouldn't need a crossover for testing at reasonable volumes.

Thanks! It’s hardwired I’m so hooking it up to another amp is a process, I have caps on hand so I’ll try that first.

I was using a guitar amp with the treble maxed to test it, and got nothing at all through, so cap seems likely.
