  • Mesa Boogie Mark IIC+

Some years ago I found a web called ampclones, that sell kits for build amps. But now this webpage is down. Anyone have the pcb's for build a Mesa Boogie Mark II? or the layouts?

    Thanks.

Good luck, I myself do not have them. Have you been inside a Boogie MArk2? AS a technician, I hated to see them come in my door. I am not alone in this. Oh they sound great, are compact and relatively versatile, but very densely packed, with optos stacked three deep and other offenses. Not a good project for the inexperienced.

I have to agree with Enzo in regards to not wanting to see them come in my door for repairs! Great amps, but definitely challenging to work on.

I know you're looking to build a MKIIC, but have you considered a stripped down point-to-point Boogie style amp? I'm going to attempt a stripped down MKI build for my next amp. Maybe that's the way to go with a MKII style amp as well?

A user called caphead on the sloclone forums made some pcbs for the iic+ a while back. Might be worth shooting him a pm.

I built one of the ampclones sets and it was a nightmare. Bad heater trace layout causing hum and a few errors on the schematic and silkscreen.

It did sound great once it was done though.

I agree with Enzo and I speak from experience. Around 1990 I built a Boogie MK I clone for the experience and because I couldn't afford a real one at the time. I built it turret style on F4 type board. Lots of gain in that amp and it took me a long time to work out the lead dress and do some tweaking just to make it stable (getting rid of hi frequency squeal). And that was without the opto couplers switching the MKII had. Eventually sold it and later bought a used real MKIIC+. Owned it for years and fortunately it never gave me any grief before I sold it.

Hi, sorry I'm pretty late to this but I have an unused PCB set from ampclones for the Mark IIC+ (and prety much all of the components. Probably all of them in fact, including genuine mesa inductors for the graphic EQ, vactrols and all the caps/resistors/etc) - totally unused, never got around to building it. If you look at the following archive link, it's the set listed near the bottom of the page as "New products for June", second item in that list - https://web.archive.org/web/20120607...=index&cPath=2

I'm in Australia but happy to sort something out with you with postage if you'd like!

              Cheers
              Jonathan

If you had the chassis too I would take it off your hands. Regret selling the clone I built

                  Hi Jonathan,
                  I'm in Oz too.
PM me with details and how many $ you want for this bundle.
                  Cheers, Noel

Hi Noel, can't seem to private message for some reason? I'll get back to you after this weekend after I figured out what I have and what I paid and we'll come to some sort of arrangement!

Probably because you have only two posts, are a new member, and are still on the probationary level. Stick with us, it will all open up to you soon enough. Noel has been here a while, perhaps he can PM you. I am not sure of the fine details of the system here. Once you manage to connect, you can share email addresses and avoid the whole issue.

Thanks for that suggestion Enzo; I should have thought of that myself.
                        I have sent composition4 a PM.

Jonathan, PM on its way to you.
