  • Using Behringer power amplifier from 1280 S as stand alone PWR amp

    Hello everyone
    I’m new here

    Just a question

I have a junker behringer 1280 S mixer amp, donated to me.
The mixer section is junked with all the knobs broke off etc, but amp still works.

I’ve pulled it apart with the idea of removing the power amp section and rehousing it in a smaller tidier enclosure and using it as a stand alone power amp to drive my Bose 802s with a feed from my Bose T1 mixer.

    Is this possible?

From what I can see..... after pulling it apart I have a small block connector which was connected to the mixer, with 5 black wires one red and two white wires.
The two white wires lead directly to what I assume is the amplifier
The 5 black and single red are plugged into to circuit board of the sps1000 board.

My question is...... can I attach my Bose T1 via jack to jack connection or similar to the amp?
If so...... could anyone on here help me with some direction as to how it should be connected?

Might I be correct in assuming that each white wire is a + left and + right audio input while the negatives go to ground

Any help would be very much appreciated

    Regards

    Vincent

There are designators on each header.

The power amplifier input header is marked X11.
Here is a crop of the pin assignments for the inputs: Behringer PMP1280s Input A-B.pdf
