  • 4-string bass pickup that fits a std HB ring

What are my options for 4-string bass pickups that fit in a standard guitar humbucker ring? Anybody wind such a thing on a regular humbucker baseplate?

Something along the lines of a EMG-HB would work, but I want it to be passive so that I can use a separate active preamp.

    What's out there?
    "Are you boys the police?"

    "No ma'am....we're musicians."

I've made bass humbuckers that sized, but you wouldn't want to use a guitar humbukcer base plate in my opinion.

It's best to keep the metal to a minimum.
It would be possible to describe everything scientifically, but it would make no sense; it would be without meaning, as if you described a Beethoven symphony as a variation of wave pressure. — Albert Einstein
