      Verry special !

      Hello,
yes I got me one from ebay some time ago,I opend it.
It has no real bobbin, just grey bulky paper top and bottomplate.
The keeper bar is stuck in the inside of the coil as bobbin center and surrounded of brass.
Wound with PE ,wich is soldered directly to the solderpoints on to the bobbinplate.
The magnets are long PAF style magnets wich I think are unoriented.
      Hope this helps.

      Happy New Year !

        ...

I just won one on Ebay as well, freaking expensive. I did some looking at the history of these, some of the variants look like they have keepers on top of the pickup as a bar or something, real strange. I don't think Gibson made them as alot think, that kind of construction is DeArmond Rowe trademark. anyway will be jazzed to check this one out....

            ...

great shots but hard to see how the magnets are included. I should have mine in a couple days. There's still one left on ebay for $289, they very rarely ever come up for auction, a rare pickup....

              one more pic......

              Hello,
still hard to see but magnets are under the coil along the drilled keeperbar that goes all the way trought the coil. Can not lift the coil because the enamel wire is directly soldered to the joints in the bottomplate.
              cheers

                .....

Cool thanks for doing that for me. Cool design, I can see why they sound like they do and not like P90s exactly....

A big steel core for one thing.

Wow, that sure looks like it! I thought this was one of those DeArmond-Rowe speed bumps .... a Gibson, huh?

                              Man, I love old pickups.
