hey all. i'm about to build a 5e3. i'm adding a TMB tonestack, two switches to change the values of the cathode resistor bypass caps, and steve ahola's "full, warm, sweet" switch, and a negative feedback switch. i might also change the cathode resistor of the power section to 430ohms or so to decrease the compression.

this amp was designed to run on 110v power...current house power is 120. i assume that this is part of the reason these amps get dirty and compressed so fast. is there any way to mod the circuit to compensate for the extra power?

if you havent guessed, i want a pretty versitle amp as far as clean vs. dirty tones go. i play blues/jazz. it would be nice to get a little bit more blackface out of the tweed.

i've got several ideas about modding the volumes and tone stack...i plan to figure out what i like by just trying out several arrangements.

would using 6L6's decrease the gain somewhat? for simplicity's sake i'd like to stick with the 6V6's.
Working...
