  • Marshall AVT50 - burned R58

Anyone know the value of R58? Any links to the schematic? Thanks!

10 ohms. It is part of the stability network. If it burned up, the power amp was putting out tons of high freqs that didn't belong there.

      thanks

does that mean the output chip is bad?

Actually it doesn't have a lot to say about the chip either way. Just plug the input into the output, and that resistor will likely burn, while the chip may well survive. On the other hand, sometimes the process takes the chip with it.

besides R58 burned, the fuse was blown and the output chip was shorted. thanks for the 10 ohm info! it's working fine now
