  • Musicman LM-307 CANS

What are you guys using for replacements for these ? I can't find any surplus ones but I've heard some substitutes. Just ordered some TO-99 to DIP adapters and am going to experiment with some IC's. Which do you like or think would work ok as far as tone. This is an HD2475-130 6CA7 type amp with the 12AX7 splitter tube.

It is just a single op amp, so other than the package, wouldn't a plain old TL071 or a 5534 work in its place?

The LM307 is not critical and any single op-amp can be used. We just use 8-pin wirewrap sockets with long legs and bend the leads to fit the outline. Done!

Thanks fellows I'll try the 5534. Wish I would have saved one of those Burr Browns from Presonus as they were very good but I'll try that and thanks. Oh and I did find this cool link so I may try a few of these http://www.pacair.com/discus/message...tml?1193000471
