  • Wiring for coil split with vintage wire

How would you wire a humbucker for coil split using vintage single conductor braided wire and a second single conductor wire?

I believe you would connect the second single wire to the series connection of the pup. Grounding that connection would cut off the coil associated with ground.

I had a set of Gibson Dirtyfingers that used vintage braided coax, and then had a second braided coax that was connected to the series link.

Personally I'd just use 4-conductor cable. It would be less work, and offers more choices for wiring the pickup.
